Last Saturday, 22 November 2025, the Department conducted its last workshop of the year with the Dumagat/Remontado (ISO 639-3 [agv]) (Antipolo) community. This is part of UP Lingg’s ongoing partnership with the Dumagat/Remontado (Antipolo) wherein the department facilitates a series of capacity-building workshops aiming to equip the community’s core team with the necessary skills to conduct a community-led language documentation project.

Other workshops conducted this year include Language and Identity, Ethics in Fieldwork, Language Vitality, Language Documentation, and Basic Linguistic Analysis. Last Saturday’s workshop focused on Documenting Local History, facilitated by Asst. Prof. Emmanuel Jayson Bolata from the Department of History.  Also present at the workshop were Assoc. Prof. Maria Kristina Gallego, Instr. Brian Baran, and TA Katrina Jose.

The collaboration with the Dumagat/Remontado (Antipolo) community continues next year, with the implementation phase of the language documentation project.
