Lecturer Ken Kurusu published his paper entitled “Sociophonetics of consonant clusters in Tagalog: A preliminary analysis” last 9 September 2025 in the 31st volume of the conference proceedings of the 31st Annual Meeting of the Austronesian Formal Linguistics Association (AFLA). The proceedings were edited by Alessa Farinella and Jed Sam Pizarro-Guevarra, collaborators and previous visiting research fellows to the Department. The conference was hosted by the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 12-14 June 2024. The 31st AFLA aims to bring together researchers working on prosody and psycholinguistics in Austronesian as well as verb-initial languages in other language families, creating a space for scholars who do not normally collaborate to share ideas and perspectives.
