Faculty members and alumni of the Department are set to share their works at the 19th International Conference of The Asian Association of Lexicography at Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The conference, which runs from 09 to 11 September 2026, has the theme, “Lexicography: Multidisciplinary Approaches and Collaborations.”

Assoc. Prof. Jem Javier will present the paper, “The UP MDF Project: Developing a Corpus-based Monolingual Dictionary of a Philippine National Lingua Franca,” co-authored with Prof. Mary Ann G. Bacolod and Assoc. Prof. Ma. Althea Enriquez (Departamento ng Filipino at Panitikan ng Pilipinas).

Meanwhile, PhD alum Danilyn Abingosa has two co-authored papers: “From Lexicon to Orthography: Lexicographic Documentation as the Basis for Meranaw Orthographic Development” (with Sittie Noffaisah Pasandalan and Fitria Rahmawati) and “Weaving Identity through Words: The Higaonon Cultural Dictionary Project” (with Sittie Noffaisah Pasandalan, Jay Rey Alovera, Jed Otano, and Paul Bokingkito).

Finally, BA Lingg Plan-B alum Jonathan Malaya Damary will read his paper, “Malay and Javanese Loanwords in Obo Manobo.”
