Several members of the Department will be participating in the Salindunong 2022 Conference organized by the Department of Filipino at the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT).
Asst. Prof. Jem Javier is one of the conference’s plenary speakers and he will be giving a talk titled “Paki-unmute: Makabagong Hamon at mga Bagong Oportunidad para sa Linggwistik na Pananaliksik.”
MA Ling alum Janus Ruel Cabazares, who is currently an assistant professor at the UP Mindanao Department of Social Sciences, is also one of the plenary speakers at the conference. His talk is titled “Wika sa Internet: Implikasyon sa Pananaliksik sa Wika at Kultura.”
Among the paper presenters at the conference are Dept. Instructor and MA student Noah Cruz, who will be presenting his study “Metapora sa Panahon ng Pandemya: Ilang Tala ukol sa mga Metaporang May Kaugnayan sa COVID-19 Pandemic sa Wikang Pilipino,” and PhD candidate Zinab Bangkero-Barataman, whose paper is titled “Re-Analisis ng Estruktura ng Salita sa Wikang Meranaw: Kaso ng mga Bound Rut.”
MA Ling alum April Perez, currently an associate professor of the UP Departamento ng Filipino at Panitikan ng Pilipinas, will also be presenting her paper “Bokabulariskx: Isang Reeksaminasyon sa Sosyolek ng mga Mag-aaral sa UP Diliman.” PhD Ling alum Danilyn Abingosa will also present a paper (co-written with Radzma Kalim) titled “Nominal na Infleksyon at Deribasyon sa Kolibugan.”
