Documentation of Local Narratives on Toponyms, Hazards, and Disasters (DALAN): Babuyan Claro

A joint project between the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (DOST-PHIVOLCS) and the UP Department of Linguistics, DALAN “aims to determine and document oral history in Babuyan Claro relating to volcano, earthquake, and other natural hazardous events, and to relate these descriptions with published reports and observed local geology. In addition, the project aims to document local words and phrases that are used to describe natural hazards, which will potentially be helpful in developing local language information materials in the future.”
