Paglulunsad at Paglalayag 2023

In this installment of the Paglulunsad at Paglalayag, our Department will officially launch the latest issue of The Archive Classics, featuring the bilingual edition of Otto Johns Scheerer’s paper titled, “Legends of the Atayal people on Formosa” [“Sagen der Atayalen auf Formosa” in the original German version], translated into English by Dr. Markus Locker of the Ateneo de Manila University, through the support of the German Embassy in the Philippines. The program will also feature a special lecture titled, “The Atayal of Formosa: An overview of the language, people, and research” to be delivered by Dr. Victoria Chen of the Victoria University of Wellington. Dr. Richard Scheerer, the grandson of Prof. Emeritus Scheerer, will also attend the event and give a talk about his grandfather’s academic journey in the Philippines.

Due to the existing health protocols, participating at the Paglulunsad at Paglalayag 2023 will be by invitation only.
