The primary goal of the talk is to show how we can use an eyetracker to conduct linguistic research. As a case study, I will report on a visual world study I conducted back in August-September 2023 at UP Diliman on reflexive processing. A secondary goal is to expose attendees to a different flavor of linguistics not typically done at UP, psycholinguistics.

Dr. Jed Sam Pizarro-Guevara received his B.A. at the University of California, Berkeley, where he also studied French and applied language studies. His M.A. degree from California State University, Long Beach was on teaching English as a foreign language, while he received his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of California Santa Cruz in 2020. His doctoral dissertation was on “when human universal meets language specific.”

He has also been a visiting research fellow at the Department since 2015. You may visit his website at <> for more information.
