Assistant Professorial Fellow Kyung Min Bae and Senior Lecturer Mark Rae C. De Chavez are currently at the Erciyes Universitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi (Erciyes University Faculty of Letters) in Türkiye to present their studies at the 4th Erakam Korean Studies International Conference.
The conference, with the theme, “Research and Prospects of Korean Studies in Eurasia,” will run from 25-26 April 20204 and will feature 42 presentations from scholars hailing from 14 different countries.
Dr. Bae, who is currently also serving as the director of the UP Korea Research Center (KRC) and part of the conference’s organizing committee, will read her paper, “‘A Peninsula in the Archipelago’: Trends, Challenges, and Prospects of Korean Studies in the Philippines.” Meanwhile, De Chavez will talk about the sustainability and trajectory of Korean language education at the University of the Philippines
