The BA Linguistics Classes of 2019, 2020, and 2021 released their edition of “Rosetta,” the official UP Department of Linguistics yearbook. The Department and the alumni received their copies on 01 October 2022. A preview of the yearbook is available here.
The three batches collaborated on publishing a single yearbook to commemorate their journey and experiences as linguistics majors. Although they graduated in different years, they had all been classmates, groupmates, orgmates, friends, and, most notably, members of the FamiLingg. The editorial board released the yearbook in time for the Department’s centennial anniversary.
With the Classes of 2020 and 2021 not being able to participate in physical graduation rites due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the production of this memorabilia serves to give them the closure they need from college life. The graduates still, however, maintain their desire to be able to attend an actual recognition ceremony when circumstances finally permit.
This edition of Rosetta was spearheaded by a team of BA Linguistics graduates led by Lois Gabrielle De Leon (2020), the editor-in-chief, together with associate editors Rizza Michaela Sidocon (2020), Noah Cruz (2020), Sander Roy Ayala (2020), Soleil Phoebe Vinoya (2020), Natacha Boaphuan (2019), and Peteena Mika Faulan (2019) and under the advisory of Mr. Michael Manahan.
