Department inks Partnership with the MSU-IIT Center for Language Studies

Last 14 November 2025, a partnership between Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology’s (MSU-IIT) Center for Language Studies (CLS) and UP Diliman’s Department of Linguistics was formed and inked. This partnership’s goal is to shine more light on the languages of Mindanao and help Mindanao’s language professionals and researchers. A ceremonial signing was done between MSU-IIT’s Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Pamela F. Resurreccion and Department Chair Francisco Rosario. 

Several faculty members were in attendance at this signing, including College of Arts and Social Sciences Dean Marie Joy D. Banawa, CLS Director Honeylet E. Dumoran, Departmento ng Filipino at Panitikan, Chair Danilyn T. Abingosa, English Department Chair Irish Mae Fernandez-Dalona, and the Department’s Asst. Prof. Jay-Ar Igno and Lecturer Michael Manahan. Following this was a meeting between MSU-IIT’s Department of English, Departamento ng Filipino at Panitikan, as well as UP Diliman’s Department of Linguistics.
