Aside from the nine public lectures organized from January to March 2025, some members of the faculty also attended additional trainings and conducted talks outside of the Department-organized events.

Assoc. Prof. Mary Ann Bacolod joined the “Forum on the Alignment of CMO No. 15, series of 2019 in the Development of Graduate PSGs in Various Programs and Disciplines” at Newport City, Pasay City last 16 January. Bacolod, alongside Asst. Prof. Francisco Rosario Jr., would also attend the project launch of “DANAS: Earthquake, Tsunami, and Volcano Disaster Narratives for an Experiential Knowledge-based Science Communication” of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology last 25 February.

Meanwhile, last 29 January, Asst. Prof. Fellow Kritsana Canilao gave the talk, “Sanskrit Loanwords in Thai and Tagalog,” at the Seminar for Academic and Research Excellence Project Meeting of the Department of Thai of the Chiang Mai University.

Next, Asst. Prof. Fellow Kyung Min Bae participated in the Kyung Hee University Global Virtual School Workshop organized by the Office of International Affairs of the Kyung Hee University in Seoul on 07 February.

Asst. Prof. Vincci Santiago, meanwhile, wrote the “pahabol na salita” for the novel Narkokristo published by Avenida books. He also gave a training on “Linguistic Data Gathering: Tools & Techniques” at Tarlac State University, and was a guest speaker at BA and MA Lingg alum Louward Allen Zubiri’s taught class at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, “Southeast Asian Food Music, Music, and Rituals.” Department Chairperson Kristina Gallego was also an invited guest for the class.
