Sr. Lec. Kenichiro Kurusu was at Philippine Normal University (PNU), Manila last 7 March 2026 to talk about methods in linguistic research in the context of both Philippine and Japanese Linguistics. His talk entitled From Data Gathering to Analysis: Methods in Linguistic Research also focused on bridging linguistics and migration studies.The Erudite Circle (TEC) organized the talk as part of their IGNITE 2 Research Forum with the theme “Methodological Perspectives in Language, Literature, and Linguistics Research.”

The TEC is an organization of BA English Education Majors under the Faculty of Languages and Literature of PNU. Their event, IGNITE 2, was organized with the goal of bringing together experts to generate discussions and engagements with aspiring researchers among the BA English Education Majors of PNU who are interested in doing research on language, literature, and linguistics.
