Asst. Prof. Elsie Marie Or was one of the facilitators for “Politeness strategies and conventionalized gestures in Southeast Asia,” with Thuy Hien Le and Antonia Soriente. It is part of the event “Language and the Body: The Body as both Object and Tool of Linguistic Research” which has several workshops and presentations. The event was held last 22 May 2026 and was organized by the Università di Napoli “L’Orientale.”
