Asst. Prof. Elsie Marie Or will present on heritage language maintenance among Filipino migrant families at the 7th International Conference of Applied Linguistics at the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University in Lithuania. Her paper entitled “Motivating Factors and Challenges in Heritage Language Maintenance among Filipino Migrant Families in Italy” is in line with the conference’s theme “Languages and People.” The conference is held from 25 to 27 September 2025.

The papers, posters, and thematic workshops presented and conducted at the conference covers a range of disciplines, including sociolinguistics, language policy, discourse analysis, translation, linguistic pragmatics, language acquisition, language teaching and learning, lexicography, corpus linguistics, cognitive linguistics, and more. The conference is organized by the Lithuanian Association of Applied Linguistics (LITAKA) and the Department of Lithuanian Studies at the Institute of Applied Linguistics, a part of the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University.
