Asst. Prof. Elsie Marie Or will be presenting her study entitled “An Ethnographic Study of Translingual Practices of Filipino Migrants in Italy” at the Conference on Heritage Languages in Italy held at the University of Naples L’Orientale and University of Naples Federico II. The conference takes place from 2 to 3 October 2025. The conference is co-organized by Margherita Di Salvo and Francesca Moro of the Società di Linguistica Italiana.

The conference tackles a myriad of topics on heritage languages in the Italian context including Italy’s minoritized and migrant languages of Arab, Cameroonian, Chinese, Filipino, and Ghanian communities, among others, as well as grammar and language acquisition of Italian in contact and multilingual contexts.
