Inst. Vincci Santiago recently served as a discussant at The Emmanuel Nabayra Lecture Series last 25 November, organized online and onsite by the Department of Social Sciences of UP Mindanao. He reacted to fellow MA Lingg graduate, Asst. Prof. Edward Estrera‘s talk on “The Verbal Morphology of Tëduray.”
Santiago highlighted the work’s significance “on current scholarship on the grammatical structures of Philippine languages” and in “historical and anthropological scholarship and even language policy.”
The event was named after Emmanuel Nabayra, former UP Mindanao senior lecturer whose 40-plus-year research was dedicated and focused on the indigenous communities of Mindanao. More information may be found at the unit’s official Facebook page.
