BA Lingg major (Plan C-Korean) Symon Dela Cruz is currently participating at the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) Hanmun (Classical Chinese) Fellowship.

The Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) Hanmun (Classical Chinese) Fellowship is a four-month training program for young Korean studies scholars who seek to improve their Hanmun literacy. AKS is holding this year’s basic course, which is the 11th installment of the program, from March to June 2025. This year, the program welcomes seven fellows from India, the Philippines, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Poland. AKS Hanmun fellows shall take lectures based on the original Hanmun texts: 논어 (Analects of Confucius), 계몽편 (Textbook for Child Enlightenment), as well as 삼국사기 (History of the Three Kingdoms).

In the current program, Symon represents the Philippines amongst seven international fellows. The fellows are also expected to participate in cultural field trips, produce an individual research paper, and submit a study report.

Good luck, Symon!
