Senior Lecturer Maria Concepcion Loren R. Chua recently gave her talk, “Beyond K-Pop and K-Dramas: Where Korean Can Take You” at the Teacher Education Career Forum 2026. The event is the first career forum launched by the Teacher Education Council (TEC), which is mandated under Republic Act No. 11713, otherwise known as the “Excellence in Teacher Education Act,” to ensure and enhance the quality of education and training of teachers and school leaders nationwide.
The forum provides a space for career exploration by connecting Senior High School students with professionals who share their real-life educational and career journeys. Through these stories, students are encouraged to reflect on their own interests, strengths, and aspirations and to discover the different academic and professional pathways available to them.
As one of the invited speakers, Chua shared her own career journey—from studying the Korean language and culture and pursuing graduate studies in South Korea to building a career in Korean language education, translation, and international cultural education.
