Some of the faculty members of the Department, along with 24 Bahasa Indonesia/Malaysia (BIM) students, went to the Embassy of Malaysia on 11 June 2026 to participate in a food & language sharing session.

Among the faculty members present at the event were Department chair Francisco Rosario, Jr., Asst. Prof. Divine Angeli Endriga, Lecturer Abbi Ledesma, and Teaching Associate Kat Jose. Students from BIM language courses joined this interactive program to foster “deeper mutual understanding while celebrating the shared cultural heritage of Southeast Asia.”

The Embassy provided Malaysian food and drinks prepared by Mr. Ammar Syafiq bin Ayob (Chef Ammar), while His Excellency Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of the Philippines, highlighted the importance of cultural and linguistic exchange.

The Embassy and the Department recently held a meeting last June to discuss future opportunities for collaboration in course offerings, events, teacher training, and other cultural activities. For more information on our BIM courses, please visit our page for BA Lingg Plan B.
