The Department of Linguistics congratulates Peter Jon Mendoza, Lance Joshua Castro, and Reb Nuñez on being awarded the Scholarship for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) Grant offered by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Mendoza is a PhD student in our Department, whose research interests include historical linguistics, ethnolinguistics, and theoretical linguistics. He is currently affiliated with the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines as a faculty member.
Castro is pursuing an MA Linguistics degree, and his research interests include morphophonemics, English linguistics, and Kapampangan linguistics. He is a college instructor at Don Honorio Ventura State University.
Nuñez is a lecturer at Marinduque State College, who is currently enrolled in the MA Linguistics program. His research interests include morphosyntactic analysis, psycholinguistics, linguistic fieldwork & language documentation, and French language.
The SIKAP Grant Program is CHED’s educational assistance program for Filipino faculty and personnel of higher education institutions who wish to pursue advanced studies and later on give back by contributing to the enhancement of tertiary education pedagogy. Grantees of the program are entitled to various support funds, allowances, and incentives for the duration of their program.
