Dr. Kyung Min Bae appointed as Director of UP Korea Research Center

Dr. Kyung Min Bae, Assistant Professorial Fellow of the Department, has been officially appointed as Director of the UP Korea Research Center (KRC).

Dr. Bae’s appointment was approved by UP President Angelo A. Jimenez, and her term is effective starting 01 September 2023. She formerly served as the Officer-in-Charge of the UP KRC from 2021 to 2023. 

The UP KRC, under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, was officially established in 2016 “to be a venue for students and professionals to produce meaningful comparative researches and also to promote collaborative partnerships among Korean, Southeast Asian and Philippine Institutions.” Some of the lectures and conferences organized by the Center in partnership with the UP Department of Linguistics include the September installment of the Talks on Asian Languages (TAL) and the 8th Philippine Korean Studies Symposium last January.
