Abstract:

A single article cannot capture the experiences that I have had and will have here in this six-month training. This was only an episode, a drop in an ocean of memories. I am incredibly grateful to the Japan Foundation for making me a participant in this program, to my home institution of the UP Department of Linguistics for supporting me every step of the way, and lastly to people I spend these six months with. My fellow Filipino delegates, the other participants (in our program and to the other programs), the administrators and staff, and my teachers. I will use all that I have learned to improve my teaching, to handle my classes more effectively, and as part of my Department, to contribute to the teaching of national languages in Asia according to the needs of the Filipino people.
