Chua publishes on teaching Filipino as foreign language

Senior Lecturer Maria Concepcion Loren R. Chua‘s article on teaching Filipino as a foreign language has been recently published by the UP Korea Research Center in its UP KRC Opinions & Perspectives Issue 2024-01. Her commentary, “From Southeast to East Asia: The Journey of Filipino as a Foreign Language,” recounts her experience teaching the Filipino language to Koreans like during the 2022 Southeast Asian Language Camp through the Busan University of Foreign Studies (BUFS) and the 2022 Jeonbuk National University Southeast Asian Language Camp, and relates these to the challenge for Filipino language educators to “further research and make efforts to promote the Filipino language on the international scene.”
